Offering on a popular house

Viewed a house that has had a lot of interest on day 3 after it was listed. If we offer and someone else offers more then will we get a chance to increase ours? Or potentially miss out. We want the house but don’t want to offer more than we have to!

You should get the chance to up the offer, but make sure you’re clear in your own mind what your ceiling price is. However if the agent is a bit shit you might now be called, in our case our house was on at offers over XX and we had 4 offers the day after the open day, agent promised to call all for best and final and in fact didn’t bother. I had a runner up knock my door crying after we’d accepted another offer because he wasn’t given the chance to up his offer! Awkward.

If they’re decent agents you’ll be asked as they like to entice bidding wars.

We have a ceiling amount but don’t want to go straight in with that. Thanks for the information!
