Utility sink and tap help

I'm looking for a stainless steel double sink for the utility room large enough to fit a roasting pan and oven shelves in and also quite deep. Anyone have any ideas? Ideally undermount into granite. Franke one is a bit small - Blanco have one but not sure if available in UK. Other make is 1810. Also need a tap with a pull down hose for rinsing. Have seen a Franke one, but think it has an aerator and understand that these are not great? Brushed chrome or stainless.

Catering sink. Pretty sure to be a sit-on.

Our sink’s a Blanco, you can definitely get them in UK

I have a franke 1.25 as I couldn't find a double that met the bill of taking a roasting tin (plus needed the space to fit in a double unit including a draining board space). We have a hose tap too - I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do! I think you've made a good choose.

Thanks all. I’ll do some more investigating! 😃

Meant to paste the details - was 2017 (time flies).

1 x Franke Kubus KBX 160 45 20 Undermount Stainless Steel 1.5 Bowl with L/H Small Bowl

You can put in two separate sinks as they are under mount. Tap in the middle. Definitely recommend a spray. Franke do one attached to the swan neck so you don’t need a separate nozzle.

I do have a very large double ceramic Belfast sink in the kitchen. That works well for washing up large items and is near my cooking area and the dishwasher.

In the laundry room I have a large deep single Franke stainless steel sink with plumbed in drainer. Very useful for hand washing that’s wet! I think it’s excellent.

We have a blanco 550/200 ( one really big sink one little one) def available in the uk, and the big sink takes oven shelves/roasting pan

and a Caple Aspen pull out tap

Not sure you really need a double sink in the utility do you?

Fluffycloudland77 · 19/01/2020 14:34

Can’t those items go in your dishwasher? I put oven racks on the top rack.

I can fit the bbq grill up there too.

Thanks all. Hadn’t thought about two singles - I’ll speak to the kitchen co. Yes I do want two and no drainer. Had 2 where we stayed in Spain and they were great. We have 1.1/2 sinks and granite worktops with drainer grooves in kitchen and would prefer 2 large sinks and no drainer in util. Yes the shelves go in my dishwasher but I like somewhere to rinse them off when coming out of the cleaning bag!

Aspen tap looks like the Franke Arena so just what we’re looking for - thank you. 😃

@minipie Sorry for waking up a zombie thread but we are about to buy the Caple Aspen pull out tap. Are you happy with yours? Does it have a button to control the water or is it only controlled by the tap? Would you recommend? Smile
HBGKC · 24/11/2020 21:55

...and another question for @minipie, now that you've woken her up! Is your sink ceramic or stainless steel, and does it have a drainer?

I'm after a large bowl (to fit oven trays) plus small bowl plus drainer, and cannot find one anywhere online Confused

minipie · 25/11/2020 07:51

Hello!

The Blanco 550/200 is steel but no drainer, it’s an undermounted sink. If you went the undermounted route you can buy undermounted drainers - I think Franke does one.

The Caple Aspen yes we are happy with, but haven’t used it much as it’s in our laundry room, so can’t comment on durability. It seems good quality though. It doesn’t have a button, you just pull the end of the tap out to spray.

Hope that helps!

Thanks minipie Daffodil
