Hi all, DH and I have made an offer on a property on Stembridge Road Anerley SE20. We like the house and the immediate surroundings look good. Can you please let me know a little bit about the area? Is it safe if we arrive late from work? We will most probably use Norwood Junction as the primary station. Thanks

I live nearby, the cluster of roads between Croydon road and Marlow Road are all really nice, fairly safe- no major issues. Stewart Fleming primary school has a good reputation, very green and neighbours all generally pretty decent. Easy to get the bus up to Crystal Palace for bars and the Everyman Cinema.

I sometimes commute from Norwood Junction and the fast train to London Bridge is great- sometimes standing room only, but really quick. You can also get the thameslink trains through to Farringdon and St Pancras International. Most people would probably get the bus from Norwood Junction back across to Anerley in the Winter I reckon, the 157, 75 and 197 buses all leave very frequently- summer time when the evenings a bit lighter no issues walking. You can also commute from Elmers End (direct to Charing Cross), Anerley for the overground to Shoreditch, Kent House for the fast train to Victoria, Birkbeck for trams to East Croydon and Wimbledon. So its all really well connected for transport in this area.

I used to live around that area and the Norwood Junction to London Bridge train is really quick. The area seems to be improving rapidly too. Crystal Palace is lovely and on your doorstep and the area is very convenient and well connected.

@SevenDegreesSouth we've also got an offer accepted on the same road too. How are you finding the street and the area? We are first time buyers moving into the area from Islington.
