Noisy beeping in the Kitchen - Induction Hob

I am thinking of replacing my electric hob with an induction hob (my building does not allow gas) but I already have a number of appliances that drive me mad with the beeping Angry. The induction hob I liked the look of was the Neff N70 60cm Flex Induction Hob T56FT60X0 as it has a magnetic "Twistpad" removable dial and flex-induction zones. However, having watched a YouTube video of it, it beeps to turn on/off, to turn temperature up/down, to use any other setting. I don't know if it beeps if you put something on it but i'm guessing it does and that would not work as I have very little counter space so need to be able to use it as a resting spot too. I have read some people solve the space issue with a trivet on it so they can put things down on it but I think that is hassle and have no where to put the trivet when i'm actually cooking.

I am fine with a beep for on/off but really don't want any other other beeping and need to be able to put stuff on it when not in use. Does anyone have a recommendations for specific models (as they all seem work slightly differently with the beeping) and strangely enough proneness to beeping is not listed under the specifications!

Thanks All

I turned the audio off on my Neff induction hob. Doing so removed all of the audio except on / off -- which is a blu-bleep noise.

Now when anything is placed on the hob, only the display. flashes. Prior to this it bleeped a lot.

Thanks @MillStone

Is it easy to turn the audio off?

I have Bosch oven with an induction hob and it doesn't beep even for on and off. It has an alarm for if anything boils up and spills but that's just useful.

Induction hobs work by magnets, the buzzing they give off can be quite annoying but mine only beeps on or off

MarieG10 · 07/01/2020 14:10

Induction are great.....but you will need a dedicated electrical supply for it direct from the consumer unit due to the load so factor it in

MillStone · 07/01/2020 14:18

@Alx21

Yes very easy.

Here's the instruction booklet for the model you highlighted. Pg 20-21 outline how to edit settings.

It was the same process for mine.

That must be on just some models as mine doesn't buzz.

@MillStone thank you so much! That has solved the issue.

Although I am slightly worried about the buzzing now @devoedtobitsandback. Hopefully will be ok.

Many thanks all.

I get buzzing...usually if the pan is damp underneath

NannyR · 07/01/2020 14:35

I don't have an issue with mine buzzing, the only time it makes a slight buzz is if all four rings are being used on a high heat.

Our induction job only beeps if you accidentally place something on the on/off button, the rest of it doesn’t make a noise when you put something on!
