I own a property with an old laminate worktop which was wrecked by a water leak. The insurance company have agreed to replace it; I'd love granite (which I have at home - and I love it because it's indestructible), but the insurance won't cover that!! I've been looking at solid laminate worktops online, and have read a thread on here from 2017 about them, which was a bit of a mixed bag - but I wonder if anyone has any more recent experience that they would be willing to share with me?
