Wowzer! I wonder what the setup their is at the moment? Rented on a room by room basis?

CobbleDePook · 29/12/2019 02:59

It's got to be a children's home or a halfway house of some sort, surely?

BubblesBuddy · 29/12/2019 09:19

I would assume someone will demolish it! It’s ugly beyond description! Including the pool! Who wants a urinal in a bathroom? It’s presumably some sort of hostel. The money needed to make this pleasant is huge so of more interest to developers. Who allowed that extension??? Beyond awful!

JoJoSM2 · 29/12/2019 09:59

Is the extension built out of shipping containers? I suppose the pool would be quite a liability to either make good or get rid of.

InaPearlJam · 29/12/2019 10:05

There appears to be a dead cow on the bed of bedroom three!

bobstersmum · 29/12/2019 10:17

It's definitely been some sort of supported living I can tell a mile off by the bedrooms, especially the two tubs of chocolates on one of the beds and an armchair in each one.

Skyejuly · 29/12/2019 10:23

Got potential bit its currently awful!

PegasusReturns · 29/12/2019 10:25

That needs knocking down Shock

Christmasgifts · 29/12/2019 18:06

Seems it is a family home!

That article has absolutely convinced me something else is going on here--some kind of halfway house or care home situation. It's way too defensive.

SeasonallySnowyPeasant · 31/12/2019 23:38

The estate agent who took those photos needs to find a new job. It’s hideous. Dated, dirty and dismal.

frazzledasarock · 31/12/2019 23:41

Why is there a urinal in a ‘family home?
And why is there a towel rail right beside the urinal?

lotusbell · 31/12/2019 23:45

Come on, let's all chip in but bagsy room number 3!

ListeningQuietly · 31/12/2019 23:48

I'd rather this

@bobstersmum curious as to how the chocolates gave it away. We had both a tub of celebrations and heroes on our bed earlier. Admittedly at the moment the decor in the house linked in the OP actually puts ours to shame Grin

What a sight. The recreation room Confused

betternamechangeforthisone · 31/12/2019 23:57

Ahh the article is hilarious! The family apparently can’t decide which of their many other properties they will live in when it sells. A villa in Turkey, property in Spain and others in the UK. Brilliant.

Sprinklemetinsel · 01/01/2020 00:04

I feel the bragging about other properties funded by the people living in that pit is a bit distasteful.

sall74 · 01/01/2020 08:05

82 and still not yet retired... being a property developer and landlord has really worked out well for him I see.

bobstersmum · 01/01/2020 14:50

@betternamechangeforthisone the patients I supported hoarded treats and goodies and kept them in their rooms, they were like tuck shops!

darkriver19886 · 01/01/2020 14:59

I have lived in hostels and supported accommodation, it looks quite upmarket compared to the dives I have lived in. I do wonder why a "family home" has a fire extinguisher in it.

CactusAndCacti · 01/01/2020 19:39

It could be a house used by contractors. A couple of photos you can see a fridge in the bedroom and could also explain the dead cow reflective jacket.

PettsWoodParadise · 01/01/2020 20:05

‘Quiet cul-de-sac’ says the EA description. No mention of the fact the M62 backs onto the property.

mysmidgey · 01/01/2020 20:55

Terry, who works as a landlord and property developer, said his family were more concerned about which of their many other homes they will be moving to after the house is sold.

I would be worried too Grin

CactusAndCacti · 01/01/2020 21:34

They'd be better off trying to get planning permission to knock it down and rebuild 2 or 3 properties.

It is well above the price for that road, and needs a lot of work, even the front is very 'blah'
