Blinds/curtains in bay window

Our study has a desk in the bay window to make the most of the light, but this makes closing the (almost floor-length) curtains very difficult (I can't really reach far enough over the desk).

I've been considering blinds that would work via a string at either side, but this would still make the middle window awkward. Can anyone suggest the best solution?

I love my bay window blinds but we really had to consider the openings of the blinds and windows to make the best of it

Shutters. Expensive but oh so worth it

I just asked my husbands opinion as he makes blinds. He suggests Motorised roller blinds.

If you use the traditional method of mounting them on wood battens with screw eyes, then the cords for the central blind can be carried through the adjoining blinds fixings as well, and it can be pulled up separately from it at the side

You could get draw rods for your curtains if you want to keep them.

I'll investigate blind options mentioned a bit more - motorised ones sound expensive but brilliant ;-)
