How to contact a landlord

We are interested in buying a property that is currently advertised to let. I’ve tried emailing the estate agents it’s advertised with to see if they would contact the landlord on my behalf but they haven’t responded. Anyone know how I could contact the landlord to ask it they would be willing to sell?

I don't think there is a way, no. The estate agent isn't giving you the details because if the homeowner sells to you then they will lose business.

might be worth £3 on the land registry - sensible owners update the details with their home address. No guarantees.

or a note through the door?

Yes, I thought as much re the agents. Note through the door it is! Failing that I’ll try the land registry. Thanks

I disagree about the agents not contacting the owner because they'll lose business. Most letting agents will use contracts that provide they get a fee if they introduce a buyer.

Just get the title register from the gov.uk Land Registry website. It's £3 for an instant download. Unless the landlord has bought the place on a residential mortgage and given the property address as their address it should have the correct contact details for the owner.
