I have an old hotpoint dishwasher that is ancient. It's running a short cycle, and refusing to run the full cycle. Like it's just doing the prewash. I can hear water and the motor. And it is chucking out the tablet. Probably doing about a 15 minute cycle only- despite being set on a full cycle. Any suggestions?

Can you cut your losses and replace?
Buy a Bosch. Or a Neff - same parts. They are excellent dishwashers. Life is too short for washing stuff up if you don't absolutely have to.

Gah. Maybe... I was hoping for a miracle solution. I've done one more switch off and switch on, and am praying to the gods of all things sud related....

try to reset it.

Is it doing a full but shortened cycle?
Or is it just cutting out halfway through? Could be low water pressure? Is the hose kinked? Draining ok?

Don't bother calling someone out. The price of dishwashers you are better to just replace it is old

I'm pleased to report the machine is- even just for now- fixed! Last night I unplugged and replugged it, and tipped it backwards and forwards several times. For now it's worked...

Mine recently started doing this and it was because the filter was blocked and needed emptying and cleaning out?
