ad hoc interior design

We are about to move house.
New house is perfectly livable with décor wise but not all to our taste so will want to change it over time. Kitchen and bathrooms all good though.
We wont have the budget to do everything we want at once upfront so plan to do over time.

It would be good to get help from an interior designer but on an ad hoc bsis not a big project .
We have never used one before. We have a pretty good idea of what we like but quite short of time for actually finding things and for one room in particular it would be good to have some help in figuring out the best use of the space.
We did contact two but only interested in a big project.
Kind of changes we want to make (over time) are
changing cupboard doors in a couple of rooms (eg main bedroom has built in wardrobes inside of which is just what we need but doors not to our taste)
Build in bookshelves in 2 rooms (don't know what current owners do with their books!)
Change of use of one room as we don't need it as a bedroom. Might possibly involve knocking through to small study next to it
Changing paint colour in a couple of rooms to go better with our furniture and pictures etc.
A few other similar things.
Is this the kind of thing anyone might be interested in (and how do we find them) - we are in London (fairly central)
Some of it probably more for a joiner but was thinking designer might have contacts.

Try @OnePlanOnHouzz I'm not sure she's on MN anymore but she's active on Houzz.
