Single Story Extension Costs Northern England

Hello, for a few years we've been idly speculating on extending into the back of our house. It's an ex-council terrace, seen a few houses locally who have done this. It would be roughly 6m x 4m. We would probably need to remodel some of the downstairs a bit too to make the layout work.

I have no idea what this would cost, don't want to ask a builder because it's only something we are thinking about at the moment.

Does any one know how much this might cost or have any experience?

It totally depends on what you are looking to do with the extension...ie is it to be a kitchen so needs drains and water etc? Also does the back of the house need structural work such as steels being out in?

Be careful. What a builder will estimate will always be low u less you are lucky. Prices we got in on tender after plans were minimum of 30% higher. The architect was nearer accuracy of price
