Past the Wall paper - do I need to seal the walls first?

Having stripped the walls, I am now procrastinating before embarking on the actual wallpapering. If the walls are plaster, do I need to seal them first? I guess they weren't done before papering the last time (before I moved in). I've never used past-the-wall paper before so I'm not sure if it differed to past-the-paper in this respect. I've never sealed the wall when papering before.

Basically I am finding reasons not to start the actual papering as
I haven't papered for years 😂
