Roof tiles - quote seems really high!

We need 3 tiles replaced in a place which needs scaffolding and our builder has just given us a quote of around 800. Appreciate scaffolding costs but this seems pretty hefty!

We are in the SW and the builder is one who is known to us (family friend of my parents) and is very well thought of locally so unlikely to be a rip off merchant.

Unrealistic of us or are we missing something?

Scaffolding is always extremely expensive. We pay between 600-800 for a 5-7storey scaffold tower (in London), so that's where the bulk of the cost will be.

Thank you - my mum just looked up the last job they needed scaffolding for and it was 400 just for that so given the fact he's got to replace some cement on the gable end I think it just is what it is

Make sure he fully checks the roof then and do any other repairs whilst there. The ridge tiles are always favourites for needing repointing having had three houses with them always needing doing
