What colour carpet?

For hall, stairs and landing?

I really wanted stripes but my house is old and isn’t straight so they would not lie straight and drive me to distraction.

Have four kids, dog and four cats so something that hides muck would be good!!

Purple?

Cottipus · 23/11/2019 19:49

Taupe is a good mid colour neutral. I

Loop rather than twist as it’s harder wearing.

I second taupe. Or you can get nice cream and grey speckled ones.

Not thought of purple - off to google!!

I've recently done a silver grey in a waffle pattern. Go for hard-wearing, not fluffy.

jackstini · 23/11/2019 20:13

Mid grey - works well!

Taupe with speckles.

Don’t get a loop pile as cats will love scratching it! They’ll have it trashed in no time.

What colour are the walls?

minipie · 25/11/2019 08:50

We have a mid greeny grey flatweave - I think flatweave should be more claw resistant than loop but not tested ours on an actual cat yet.

Loop is the worst for claws! I'd go for twist. Like the idea of purple so long as your house isn't too dark. Otherwise a flecked rabbit-fur coloured grey/beige is the one that is most forgiving of pawprints and spilled tea.
