How bad is it to sell in early January?

So our tenants have decided to leave just before Christmas - great. We'll be looking to put it on the market in January.

We were hoping to do this in Spring - are we silly trying to sell in January? We will be paying the mortgage on this one and the rent in where we are living - ouch!

Well a lot of ppl will also start looking in the new year. We were looking for our first place in January and bought by end of January and moved in early April.

Wld probably be better if u cld wait a couple of months if u need to decorate or touch it up but if the market is gd in ur area then it should be ok.

We put our house on in February and it sold within two weeks to buyers that had been looking since January. We primped and dressed it to the n'th degree! The house we bought was put on the market in January. Mind you it then took until nearly the end of July to finally complete, but all so worth it in the end!! Seems to be a shortage of decent houses on the market at the moment too, so I think anytime is a good time at the moment. People who are serious about moving are never going to be put off by either the time of the year or Brexit!

We had a bidding war on a flat we put on in Jan! Admittedly this was in 2011, when the market in our area was booming. But we were surprised nonetheless
