Hello, we're thinking of relocating to Neilston in the south side of Glasgow and wondering if anyone has experience of the village. Would you recommend for a family. Thanks

I grew up there and would happily move back, any questions let me know, Also try posting on Scotsnet

It's got good links to an excellent high school (Eastwood in Newton Mearns) which is a train ride away.

Although I understand that the council is re-aligning catchments in the near future so that may change, with pupils going to Barrhead instead (not such a good school).

I clicked on this as I used to live in the Southside of Glasgow. Wasn’t expecting to see a question about Neilston as it isn’t Glasgow! Smile

I’m now not far from Neilston, and have friends who live there and have brought up their families there. They like it, and I’ve always had a good feel about the place when I’ve been there. Train service seems to be a bit more reliable than the Kilmarnock to Glasgow line.
