I’ve been contacted by a neighbour about my boundary wall to the left of my property (facing the front door).
The property is terraced, three floors, with a basement either side, and a retaining wall on my side which sits above the basement. The neighbour claims the wall on their side is in a state of disrepair and wants myself and another neighbour above her to split the cost of rebuilding the wall. She has quoted me £4000 so far. I’m just wondering, without looking at land registry (which doesn’t tell me much), who is responsible for this boundary wall, and what is a responsible cost for labor and materials in rebuilding this retaining wall, which runs along the front garden boundary double brick thick by about 4 metres, and goes down to a depth of about 5 metres.
