Yesterday was screed day, I spent the whole day working upstairs because I couldn't walk downstairs until it dried ... today is the start of laying it down and I'm so nervous 😳 I've liked it for ages, we are having it in Parquet all downstairs and I'm so worried it'll look but, wrong etc. I'm more nervous about the floor than the fact the whole downstairs is empty because the builders aren't finished yet on the kitchen ... 😳😳

It looks fab! Take more photos when it's done will you please. Can I be cheeky and ask how much approx it's costing you? Am thinking of having it done.

TheNumberfaker · 05/11/2019 21:34

Looks good. We are also considering this.

bobbley · 05/11/2019 21:39

My MIL has it and it's lovey.

MiniCooperLover · 06/11/2019 06:19

@userxx that's ok. It's £6k (£75 sq m plus fitting). We are doing our entire downstairs (bar the loo which is already tiled). So that covers sitting room, hallway, kitchen, dining room and utility room.

Parquet flooring is beautiful. Lucky you op

userxx · 06/11/2019 07:19

Thanks for that, not cheap is it 😱. It does look amazing though.

mimiasovitch · 06/11/2019 10:17

That's gorgeous. Major floor envy here.

MiniCooperLover · 06/11/2019 13:09

@userxx it took me a long time of thinking and weighing it up before we decided to go for it. I really wasn't certain about spending that much (realistically it's the same cost as our units 😳) but I am really hoping it will last years and so be an investment 👍

Wow, that looks absolutely beautiful!!! You must be so pleased. That fitter certainly knows his stuff. Brilliant!!!!

userxx · 06/11/2019 16:37

So so worth it, just gorgeous! I'm sure it will last forever.

MiniCooperLover · 07/11/2019 21:47

Annoyingly the fitter sent me a message today (am working in London) to say he wasn't happy with the quality of floor laying his colleague did today in the kitchen so he's ripped it all up and will redo tomorrow but it's left a very sticky glue floor: I def appreciate his doing that so it's done properly but aggghhhhhhh ... so close ......

Well it's almost finished. One fitter coming back Monday to finish off as they didn't fully catch up from the bad work on Thursday.

Wow! You must be well pleased. Is it easy to keep clean? Do you need to do anything special.

MiniCooperLover · 09/11/2019 16:13

I've seen a couple of loose tiles that aren't glued down properly which is really disappointing... the fitter is coming back Monday as it is to fix the bad work his colleague did so these will need fixing too. It's given me a bit of a stress headache which is daft I know 😳

Floors are finally finished hurrah 👍👍 The main guy worked so hard fixing the bad tiles the other guy put down. I gave him a tip and told him to only give a quarter to the other guy as he worked so hard 👍 A couple of pics now and I'll put more up when the renovations are finished and the rooms are clean 😂
