Renovating but living here- storage suggestions

Our house renovation starts in March and it will impact every part of the house. We don't have budget to move out. Not worried about that but we will need to store things such as clothes, toys, crockery etc in some of the rooms. Some we will need to access throughout, others less frequently. A big clear out will take place between now and then. Any suggestions for what to store things in please?

Insulated container in the garden seems to be what people round here are using! I'd look in Lakeland, Ikea for storage in vacuum bags as they'll shrink and take up less space - put all your summer clothing away for now, and lidded stackable plastic boxes for the rest, there will be so much dust!

All the stuff we wouldn't need or could do without was taken away by a removal company and put in sealed storage. This was very reasonably priced considering there was a truck full. Stuff we might need went into local self storage, so we had access to it. Our works used every room in the house bar one, and were for six months, so it certainly made our lives easier, even if we were virtually camping for all that time.
Stuff that needed to be protected from dust that remained in the house went into lidded boxes and zipped storage bags, but we kept this to an absolute minimum. Builders can't work with items piled up everywhere. We also had items stored in the garden under tarps.

Thank you, this is v useful. Will look into vacuum bags. Hadn't considered the storage you refer to @Ariela, didn't even know it was a thing so thanks. Useful point @longearedbat about the builders, should have guessed that really. I don't think we'll get a storage unit into the rear garden as no access and drive will have the skip on. I'm hoping the Kondo fairies will magically sort everything out for us!
