Hi, we are looking to move to Woking area with our 1 year old. Currently in London but we need more space. We are looking for somewhere like Woking that is a 30 min train to Waterloo but concerned we dont know many people in the area or know much about schools (private/state) Etc. Is it a good place to bring up a family?. Would anyone be able to give recommendations or thoughts? Hook Heath looks like a good spot or Pyrford?! Thank you very much!

That's where you can find info on schools. As a side note, if you want good schools and affordable housing, you'd be better off in outer London. Cheaper commute too.

Horsell is fantastic. Convenient for the station. Great community village feel. Good ranges of housing and school options.

Btw. We moved here without knowing anybody, but the community feel and local playgroups and schools mean you quickly get to know so many people and make lots of local friends. I think if you move to an area where you don’t know anyone it is really important that the area has lots of truly local activities where you will end up meeting the same people regularly as this helps establish new friendships with people who live close by.
