Got a call from estate agent saying a buyer had pulled out due to dampness in the house. We really liked it so we said we are still interested. She said the solicitor will call us, which she hasn’t. I don’t know where I go from here, they said they don’t want to think about moving till after Xmas. What do I do now? It’s a it like it doesn’t feel comfirmed

Implies you are in Scotland perhpas?

I’d be wanting to find out more about the dampness which caused previous potential buyer to pull out!

If in Scotland there would be a Home Report.

I’m not in Scotland. She said the previous buyers wanted something perfect and that damp appears on the report for most houses. She didn’t know the extent so that’s something we will have to find out ourselves from our own surveyor

Why would the estate agent be suggesting the solicitor will call you?

The seller's solicitor won't be calling you.

Presumably the estate agent doesn't know the details of your solicitor, if you have one.

Can't see why the previous buyer's solicitor is likely to call you.

Damp could be a minor issue that is easy to resolve, or quite a big problem, more information required.
