Petts Wood

We are currently renting in Beckenham and are ready to buy but can't afford Beckenham so are looking at surround areas - one of them being Petts Wood - does anyone know the area and is it safe, good to bring up kids as we have a 18 month old? We would also have to consider nurseries - any suggestions?

Open to other surround areas to Beckenham too but would like to be close as we have a lot of family in Beckenham.

Thanks!

Hello, we made the move from Beckenham to Petts Wood a couple of years ago and love it. We don't have kids but it's a very safe area and very family orientated.

Loads of green space, a really good variety of restaurants and shops, close to countryside and great transport links into London as well so suits us perfectly. Let me know if you have any specific questions and I'll try and help Smile

Ah that's so good to know!

We're currently just looking and exploring options, but thank you for your offer - I might contact you in the near future with some questions Grin

Petts Wood is a lovely place to bring up a family. Lots of activities, clubs and open spaces. Nice restaurants and shops. Good train links. Safe.

Be careful about what roads, EAs love to describe houses near but not in PW as Petts Wood. Whilst most nearby roads are still nice some suffer from low level anti-social behaviour - for example around Poverest (Orpington / Crays borders) or Coppice Estate (Bickley borders) a list of true Petts Wood roads is in this document cds.bromley.gov.uk/Data/134/20040728/Agenda/$Defining%20the%20Area%20of%20Petts%20Wood.doc.pdf
