Do you have Apollo slabtech worktops?

We have had white Apollo slabtech worktops installed. They are supposed to be stain resistant and easy clean however anything that touches it stains! It comes with Stone Guard which our builder used when installing but I've now read the bottle and this is actually only a cleaner. There was nothing else to seal the worktop.
I've used some Bar Keepers friend today to get the stains out but is there anything I can use to protect it?

Does anyone else have these worktops and are yours ok?
Our builder has turned out to be a bit useless so I'm now wondering if he hasn't done something he is supposed to have done!

We have white slab tech as well and the spray that comes in the care kit is great - I’ve just made sure we keep on top of any marks with that and the different scouring pads

Thanks @worrisomeHeart good to know that you're getting ok with yours. I did some googling earlier and found some bad reviews. I was starting to worry we had made an expensive mistake.

Do you use the spray as a general cleaner or just for stains? We only have a little bit left as the builder used most of it when fitting them

Mostly just for stains - we had ours fitted by Wickes and they gave us a full kit post fitting so still have heaps left. I think you can order refills from Sheridans though?

Thank you I will persevere, they look lovely when not stained!

Hi everyone, can I ask how you have found the worktops deal with scratches, (and most importantly anything which helps)? I have been obsessively careful about using chopping boards and not putting anything rough on the worktop but they are riddled with scratched. I feel like I've been scammed a bit, I have no idea what could possibly been causing it as there are only two of us in house and both really careful. I feel like I've been mis-sold something really expensive, and not sure what I can do. I realise how inconsequential this is in the grand scheme of life but I can't let it go and its making me really anxious.

Also feel scammed. The work tops are high maintenance and the super square edge is sharp and prone to chipping. V regretful.

RedRed9 · 01/04/2020 23:40

I have similar worktops and totally agree with the feeling of being scammed.

I asked the sales guy over and over if they would stain with loads of different examples (as I couldn’t believe that pure white wouldn’t). I was going: “what about curry?” “What about coffee?” “what about red wine?”. And he assured me it wouldn’t stain each and every time.

Absolute liar.

Ohfeckohfuckohshit · 01/04/2020 23:43

Mine aren't staining but I was told they're solid and "hard as stone"

Absolute bullshit.

Just wondering how you're all getting on with your Slab Tech worktops? We're considering them but the comments here are making me think otherwise! Thanks.

NoPrivateSpy · 21/03/2021 08:52

We've had ours for nearly 3 years. They've held up pretty well and we haven't had to do any touch up work. I believe you can get them professionally touched up when needed?

Our draining board is looking a little more 'off white' these days but only if you look up close. We've managed to get most stains out over time.

I had our Slabtech installed in 2018 and have seen it is susceptible to stains. I have found that baby sterilising liquid works wonders for taking these stains out. Leave for a min and wipe clean.

Grannycare · 25/05/2023 10:27

We have had ours for a month. They show everything. Cup rings from normal mugs put down on the worktop. Thin white scratch lines from goodness knows what!! I feel they are a very bad expensive mistake. So sad. They look lovely in daylight and you can’t feel any scratches but turn on the under counter lights and the horror shows up !!!

Smokeypokey · 05/05/2024 18:14

If you havent got them already ... dont ,we got black many years since and was advised to use baby oil to shine them which works , so... if you are lucky enough to have 8 days in your week ???!!!
I actually wish we had got laminate.

Bendog1956 · 23/07/2024 17:14

Find these worktops chip very easy it is not as hard-wearing as made out wouldn't have had them fitted if I had known ( fitted by wickes fitters)

PurleyIgor · 30/07/2024 11:34

We had our installed in 2021 and my advice to anyone looking to purchase this material is NOT TO. Scratches easily, starting chipping, stains easily. I'm considering changing the worktops just 3 years in. I'm also going back to the company and sales person who assured me it was tough, hardwearing and easy to clean. I don't expect to get anything from them, but they need to know they are selling people a terrible product.
