CGT RULES CHANGING FOR LANDLORDS WEF 06/04/2020

I understand that for landlords who had previously lived in a property before renting it out could claim lettings relief on CGT upon disposal ie selling of the property . This appears to be changing to the detriment of landlords . Can anyone throw any more light on this change?

it isn't clear if it is 100% definite, but it is an easy win for HMRC so I would say likely. Surprised lettings relief has lasted this long, to be honest.

if it is going to affect you sufficiently, you've just got time to evict your tenants and sell up which is the desired effect. The long-term plan is to drive out all private landlords and have the whole rental market in the 'care' of the housing associations and big companies.
