Hi Guys,

I am looking to clean my washing machine as well as my towels and have been advised to use white vinegar and baking soda. The. Only issue I have is, is white vinegar the same as distilled white vinegar and if not where do I get it from? I'm a newbie to this so any advice would be appreciated. TIA

Distilled white malt vinegar can be found in the supermarket where you buy vinegar. You'd be better with soda crystals first on a hot wash followed by a vinegar hot wash. Soda crystals found with other clothes washing products

if you mix soda and vinegar, they will netralise each other.

The foam may impress your eye, but it will not clean the washer.

Washing soda and a hot hot hot wash is best for removing the sludge of congealed soap and fabsoft residue. put some white cotton towel in, with NO DETERGENT and NO FABSOFT and you will find they foam up. That's the resident soap dissolving. You can do it again until there is no more, if you have time. The towels will come out unexpectedly soft and white.

Add some washing soda crystals to your powder in each wash, it will make it dissolve better and be more effective, so you can use less powder.

Cold washes are not good at dissolving the detergent

Or get a water softener and cut down on cleaning products all round.
