How many viewings in the first week?

House went on the market a week ago and we've had one viewing from someone who wasn't in a position to buy.

I'm concerned that it's over priced. What's the norm these days for the first week in terms of number of viewings?

My mum is in a very desirable location, she's had one viewing 3 weeks. Worrying!
Are you in a rush to sell? Does your EA have it on various selling sites? Post it on your local Facebook page!

I think you need to give it longer than a week to judge... maybe see after 4 weeks
Does show that buyers are thin on the ground though
I think buyers are sitting on their hands until after the 31st october, not that much will change after that anyway
Patience is the key

Thanks. We're not in a hurry thankfully. I was just half expecting an initial flurry of interest. I guess a lot of people are waiting to see what happens on Brexit Day.

Ours has been on the market almost three weeks now. We had one viewing in the first week and have since had 6 more. Two (low!) offers through already, people want and seem to expect a bargain at the moment.

Some of the people viewing have openly said they're not in a position to offer at the moment which I find incredibly annoying. Especially since I clean, tidy and perfect the house before each viewing! I asked DH to tell the agent to only book in those who are in a position to actually buy, but apparently that would be rude.

Definitely tell the agents you only want those who are in a position to buy eg have their house on the market preferably under offer. Your agents are being rude to you. Tell them you don't want time wasters. If necessary, change agents. Read your terms and conditions.

We only had one viewing in our first week on the market, also from a couple who hadn't sold yet, but we ended up accepting an offer from them once they had sold.

Your agents are being rude to you

Eh? How exactly? The op never once said the agent was sending people who didn't have their house on the market,

Not in a position to buy usually means their house hasn't sold. And if you only accept viewings from folks under offer then you limit your market as most of them already have somewhere. She'd get no viewings,

What area of the country are you in OP? Has a huge bearing at the moment
