New Cooker hood & installation for old kitchen?

Where can I buy a cooker hood that will also install it with the right amount and size of ducting etc to fit an existing kitchen?

I don’t feel I know enough to purchase all the bits separately. And surely no kitchen fitter would do such a small job??

You can buy ones with a charcoal filter as opposed to having to run ducting out? My Dad has one as he lives in a flat and his kitchen is internal. Otherwise it's quite a job to get someone to run the ducting out over the top of your wall cupboards, place a vent in the outside wall and hang the hood so I wouldn't worry about it being a small job. You will also need an electrician to sort out the wiring if you don't already have it.

The old knackered one has ducting. Might they not just use that?

Anyway, who do I ask? A full on “kitchen” shop?

We got ours from a local independent electrical shop, they were able to advise on the ducting kit we would need and what would fit our existing fittings etc.
