Delay house process

Hi my friend is in the process of selling his house but wants the process to take as long as possible so that he can have more than enough time to fine another house to buy or rent. How does he go about to make the process take as long as possible?

That’s a weird one.

Has he got a buyer?

@ThroughThickAndThin01 yes, he's got a buyer already and they have done a survey and going to the house to measure later in the week

Presumably they’ll know he needs to find somewhere to move to, most people do need to find somewhere. He should let the estate agent sellIng his house know that he hasn’t found anywhere yet.

Does he think he won’t find anywhere?

He needs to talk to his buyer about timings. Just stringing it out would be a shitty thing to do, and risk them pulling out of they don't think he's serious.

It is very shitty just to string them along.

The most effective and honest way is to tell the buyer and agree a late completion date. Any other way is shitty.
