Leak coming through side of bathroom vent. Apparently it needs a new external collar around the pipe and a cover, resealing etc. He needs to go on the roof to fix it obviously... £150 including parts?

Leak only active during heavy rain...

Very hard to give you an accurate estimate without seeing the job.

If it’s a stand alone through the wall job it’s probably too much and I’d expect to pay half that. About £15 materials and half a days labour just Incase it goes wrong and you’ve gotta go get more materials.

If it’s tile one that’s probably about right as you may break a tile or cause an issue whilst up there and want to cover yourself.

Most trades want to earn £150 a day depending on area/skill set. If they’re a sole trader remember they don’t get holiday pay/pensions etc. If they fall off the ladder and do their back in etc.

If it takes them an hour or goes balls up and takes most the day you’re only going to want to pay the agreed £150.

You should really get a few quotes unless it’s an emergency likely to cost you more in repair if it’s not done pronto.
