Do we need to seal the grouts?

New bathroom with shower above bath.

Builder said we need to seal between the walls and the bath.

I looked up today finding it's recommended all grouts are sealed at least in the shower area.

Wondering in reality, how much should be done... Would be grateful to hear some first hand experience/advice.

Thanks.

Why did the builder not do it?

Do you mean there's no sealant at all?! Yes it definitely needs doing and builder should have done it. OP you will have to fill the bath first to get the weight right, and not use it for 24 hours before or after. To be honest don't use it at all until this is done as water will just be collecting underneath and in the walls.

Thanks, both! The builder said it's the tiler's job, not theirs!

I would agree. Definitely part of the tiling

Absolutely part of the timing. However, if it's not done then do it ASAP
