I know not everyone is put off by a train line close to the house - but surely you wouldn't actually use this picture!!!

Grin

One for trainspotters, perhaps? Still, I suppose it prevents viewers from feeling hard done by when they get to the property and find it is practically on the tracks.

The carpets in that place are disgusting Shock

ineedaholidaynow · 25/09/2019 12:11

It does also state that bedroom 3 has views over the railway line, as if that is a good feature

Shinesweetfreedom · 25/09/2019 12:13

No not a good idea.It could put people off even viewing where it might not be a problem when viewed

Manicpixiedreambitch · 25/09/2019 12:15

I guess it makes it clear.

IncrediblySadToo · 25/09/2019 12:17

I think because it stops loads if viewings where people will not consider buying near a railway line.

Personally it would encourage me to view a house as I love being near the trains😊 but I know I’m a bit odd 🤣

However, not even being near the trains would entice me to view that house.

KitKatCHA · 25/09/2019 12:17

At least you know what you're getting! Although all of those photos are terrible, they look like they've been photoshopped within an inch of their life!

NotJustACigar · 25/09/2019 12:19

Photo ten with the big tree looking like it's right up against the house would concern me, also. You sure don't get much for your money down south, do you???

scottishdaisy · 25/09/2019 12:24

Wow. That's bad... maybe they were fed up with folk coming to look then moaning about the railway? Wanted to ensure that viewers knew in advance?? But how very odd.

overnightangel · 25/09/2019 12:30

“ You sure don't get much for your money down south, do you???”

Putting it mildly!!

Mildura · 25/09/2019 12:37

“ You sure don't get much for your money down south, do you???”

Sadly not!!

Although this one is definitely a little overpriced.

For similar money, I'd rather have this one:

BikeRunSki · 25/09/2019 12:38

It's just reinforcing how close it is to the railway.

tvdinnertracks · 25/09/2019 12:41

What's the first picture? Is that taken from a school? So it's in between a school and a railway? Fuck that.

GU24Mum · 25/09/2019 12:46

It's the railings over to the side entrance to a park. There's a school nearby but literally over the road!

And btw it's not my house - I just keep a -slightly obsessive- watch on RightMove just in case that elusive wonderful house priced a far less than market value comes up......

Bluntness100 · 25/09/2019 12:49

I suspect they have had issues with location, the train line looks like it's right outside their back door. So they are being honest about it, instead of having a bunch of viewers saying they didn't know the train line was so close.

cakeandchampagne · 25/09/2019 12:49

The picture is making it clear how close the tracks are. There will be more noise than many people would tolerate.

Kazzyhoward · 25/09/2019 12:54

Looking at those pictures, the railway line is the least of their worries. Glad I don't live down there and expected to pay so much money for a pretty awful house.

Hereward1332 · 25/09/2019 12:57

It would make me worry what the train is masking.

I used to live backing on to a (quiet) railway. It was great - not overlooked, no house overlooking the garden and only 2 trains an hour.

wowfudge · 25/09/2019 13:10

Oh good lord - so rather than just being upfront about the proximity of the railway line, they're covering something up with it!

I think they are deliberately being totally honest so that viewers can't fob them off with, "We didn't realise how close the trains were". It can be annoying when people state something you cannot change as the reason why they are not interested so you may as well counteract that from the start.

UnfamousPoster · 25/09/2019 13:19

I'm glad you explained the first picture. I thought it was the house gate and they'd randomly taken a picture of the house over the road.

Shame as the gate was the nicest thing about the house until I realised it didn't come with it!

Bizarre! Are all the properties with this agent as oddly listed?!

UnfamousPoster · 25/09/2019 13:20

Ah... I've just realised. Purple Bricks. Now I understand the bonkers pictures!

Her0utdoors · 25/09/2019 13:24

A train and cracked render with vegetation growing through it, what a treat! Not for me thanks.

Bin85 · 25/09/2019 13:30

I used to live near there!
You do get used to the trains .

SevenTillFour · 25/09/2019 13:35

Is that a special train-spotting shed in the last picture?!
