Internal load bearing wall removal

Hi All

I would like to get an idea of cost in London for the work. To include all services i.e. structural engineer, RSJ, labour and building regs approval. Also am I correct in thinking that planning permission is not required? TIA x

If it really is just the removal of an internal wall and no external alterations at all, then PP will not be required. If it is a Listed Building, Listed Building Consent would be required.

How long is a piece of string. How long is the RSJ? What load is bearing down on it?

A structural engineer in the north is circa £500 for RSJs for an extension. It may be cheaper for a single steel but then you are London.

What you will find is they usually massively over engineer the requirements but you will have to go with it
