Neff oven owners - help!

I can’t email their contact centre because I’m unable to fill in certain fields, and my queries are actually quite simple.
I have recently had installed the Neff microwave combi and standard single ovens. Can anyone tell me (for both ovens):

• should the oven door be open or shut for basic grilling (internet search seems to imply that combi should be shut but standard oven should be open)
• can I turn the grill on without having to set the timer?

You can tell I was born in simpler times!

Belated thanks for both! (daft Mumsnet didn’t notify me that I had replies!)

But I guess that means I can’t just stick my frying pan under the grill of the standard oven and leave the handle to poke outside (eg for frittata)

I have a microwave combi and a standard hide'n'slide, and can confirm that the door has to be closed for both, so you would not be able to grill a frying pan with the handle hanging out. AFAIK the thing would actually refuse to work if you tried that.
