Kitchen worktops - how long does it take to measure and install etc?

I am at the end of my tether this evening. Kitchen fitter didn't have the decency to let me know that he is not coming on the day he said he was coming next week because some other work has over run (I only found out because I had messaged him). This means that I have had to delay the templates being drawn up for my worktops and also that I have a load of large heavy boxes where my new settee should be placed (if the kitchen fitter had done what he said he was going to do this wouldn't have been an issue). All of this wouldn't have really mattered except I am trying to get the place ready for my ds's birthday party which we are having at home this year.

Please can anyone tell me how long kitchen worktops take to be made, supplied and installed. A first world problem really but I am stressed out worrying that the kitchen won't be finished in time now. Anyone?

Depends on material and style of worktop. Mine are curved edged granite so template to installation was 3 weeks. I believe more straight forward templating is 2 weeks.

Thanks minesadecaf, it is a fairly straight forward one so I think I will get them installed just in time. Fingers crossed.

Yes mine was 3 weeks too. I don’t think that’s how long they take to manufacture though, I think they could have done it sooner but they were mega busy.

I’ve just had granite worktops and upstands installed. Two large runs of worktop, one with cutout for sink and one with cutout for induction hob and a large island with prep sink cutout. They came and did the templating on a Thursday and installed it the following Thursday. We had quotes from 2 local granite companies and both quoted a turnaround of a week. The hardest part was getting a date booked for them to do the templating.
