Double bed or just 4 foot

Wondering what others would do. We are redoing dd2's room. It's about 2.5 metres by 3.5. I need to fit in wardrobe, desk, some drawers though not many, bookshelf and a bed. Current she has a single but I would like to be able to fit two adults in there in case of visitors. Trying to work out if we can fit in a double or just a 4 ft? Don't really know what to do.....

Ottoman bed might help with the storage aspect?

It will be hard for visiting couples to fit into a 4 foot, if this is the aim then I'd go with the double.

A trundle bed might be a better bet, so it can be made into a large double or two singles for visitors. A 4' bed isn't great for 2 adults past the all night spooning stage of their relationship and a double would take too much space out of what isn't the biggest of bedrooms.

A 4ft bed is tight for 2 adults. My dh and myself need a 5 ft min bed. But it depends on who you expect to stay with you.

I second a trundle bed.

Defo trundle, that way you have more floor space when not in use

Yep agree trundle would be best, ideally one of those where the trundle has legs to lift it so it matches the height of the top bed and becomes a double,.

My DD's room is about the same size as yours. It currently has a trundle but we're going to get rid of it - takes up all the under bed storage space and only used occasionally. Also it takes up nearly the whole room when it is out because it's bigger than a double because it's two singles side by side. DD is now 10 and will soon be at the point where she won't be keen to get moved out of her room when visitors come anyway. We are looking at getting a double sofabed for the living room instead. Her room is an awkward shape though and we're thinking of getting a small double for her which would fit better in the room I think and nice if one person comes to stay if she does get moved out. Also has plenty of storage underneath plus I reckon she could have a friend in with her for sleepovers :)
