Browsing, I came across this. Looking after one woodburner can be a faff at times, imagine having to care for two side by side. Besides, I think it looks really strange. What do you think?

That wall looks bad.

BentNeckLady · 17/09/2019 08:58

I’ve got 2 stoves in different rooms but having two in one room just looks horrible. Why would you do it!?

Shmithecat2 · 17/09/2019 09:01

It's a bit odd having the actual fireplace under the window Confused. I'm reaching a bit now, but maybe they just wanted symmetry? I'd have put one in the corner myself, as it does look odd.

Nextphonewontbesamsung · 17/09/2019 09:03

I'm convinced woodburners will be banned before too long. What a liability to have two in a property!

MrsDeltaB · 17/09/2019 09:05

Holy purple light shades batman!

MzHz · 17/09/2019 09:06

Proper weird!! I have 2 burners, the smaller one of which I thought was a waste of time, but when we were having boiler changed and had no heat, it really performed!

This wall with 2 burners doesn’t make sense at all to me!

Each to their own I suppose

SoupDragon · 17/09/2019 09:10

Took me ages to spot them!

I will forgive it the two woodburners though and buy the house in a heartbeat.

SoupDragon · 17/09/2019 09:11

would buy it in a heart beat. Unfortunately I am in London.

HelloYouTwo · 17/09/2019 09:15

When I look at these links I can never get over how badly estate agents do their jobs. The photos, as ever, are in a random order. Loads of that big living room, interspersed with the hallway and landing. None of that long conservatory thing visible from the outside. Two exterior views of the same wall of the house but no other indication of things like the front door. Then the wanky language about the next “custodians” ...

Rollerbird · 17/09/2019 09:21

I like the look with the symmetry! 😁

Ohbuggerlugs · 17/09/2019 09:27

I hate to see such beautiful properties with such dragged decor. The garden could be amazing too! The double wood burners are bloody awful

Funghi · 17/09/2019 09:56

Wow I love it! If I could relocate tomorrow I would.

Shmithecat2 · 17/09/2019 10:46

Yeah, I'd still buy it too. Beautiful part of the country. The decoration is dreadful and the kitchen is a total let down but I can overlook that and the woodburners for a house in Whitchurch.

Disfordarkchocolate · 17/09/2019 10:52

That house is so beautiful. I bit of paint, new bedroom carpets and I'd be happy. Double wood burners look odd and very characterless in such a wonderful property.

timeforawine · 17/09/2019 10:52

Erm that's a bit odd, a lot of the heat is being absorbed into the wall.
Gorgeous house though, not sure about some of the decor.

Polestar50 · 17/09/2019 10:55

Very odd. As is the wood burner in the study - tall and thin and stood incongruously in front of a lovely fireplace. Would be so much better with a wood burner that fits in the space.

It is a lovely house though. I love the reading nook!

MzHz · 17/09/2019 11:59

It is a beautiful house, it has quirks, and at least it’s not a bland over developed renovation like we see Far too much from “developers” trying to make a few bob quick

Mixingitall · 17/09/2019 12:06

The log burners wouldn’t bother me, they’ve done that for symmetry. It’s such a large room they may have needed a larger one that wouldn’t fit so decided on 2.

YobaOljazUwaque · 17/09/2019 15:04

I like it. There's a pleasing symmetry to it, and the window in the middle acts as a nice focal point for the room when it is too warm for a fire.

Gentlemanwiththistledownhair · 17/09/2019 17:58

It does look rubbish, but also, who watches a TV on the floor?!

yunalis · 17/09/2019 20:11

Do you have to teleport into the utility room? 🤔

Fuckwheresitgone · 17/09/2019 20:21

who watches TV on the floor
People who have faux tv wood burners in their walls?! Wink

TankGirl97 · 17/09/2019 20:24

Double wood burner design is pretty wacky, and some of the other decor too. I do love that little cosy nook at the top of the stairs though.

optimisticpessimist01 · 17/09/2019 20:49

they've definitely done that for aesthetic reasons rather than practical. I would be amazed if on an average evening they actually light both, they'd bloody melt! Our single average sized woodburner heats up the entire house, nevermind having 2 in one room you'd instantly burst into flames

optimisticpessimist01 · 17/09/2019 20:51

Also, I thought one of the main points about woodburners was that the entire body of it radiated heat, surely by putting the entire body of it in the wall your losing a lot of heat? Seems silly to me
