We are looking st houses in both South Godstone and Bletchingley, any advice on what these areas are like? We have two teenage boys that attend school in Redhill and have a budget of around £400k. Advice greatly welcomed!

Yes we live in Godstone and are about to move back to brighton. It’s quite conservative and commuterish here. Countryside is lovely. Outwood and Horley are nice. Limpsfield chart is gorgeous

Thanks for the info. Do you know what South Godstone in particular is like?

SG has a pub cum Indian restaurant and a pretty hopeless rail service. I think there is a shop selling fireplaces. Lots of houses there and a busy road.

Would Horley be very noisy given the proximity to the airport?

Horley is ok for aircraft noise atm , it is mainly east/west that gets affected - ie. Lingfield, Charlwood, Horsham - by the take off/landings. South Godstone is the site for the proposed "garden village" If it goes ahead A22 may get upgraded and possibly improved rail links, but that is some time away. Towns/villages are very different in size, facilities and character.

There's very little going on in south Godstone - scout hut curry house and camping shop- no heart of the village. I'd strongly recommend Bletchingley or limpsfield unless you don't need/want local amenities
