Council housing

Hi Im looking to get a fresh start with my children, a girl of 15 and three boys under 5.
I'm in a council property and looking at moving to the lake District but as a council tenant this is scary.
Could you please tell me best and worst areas and names of estates to look into or to avoid please

I don't imagine there are many council estates in the Lakes as the population is quite small.
