1920s house. Damp and timber survey suggested damp in walls and should have plaster hacked off an$ damp proofing 8njected.

  1. I’m not convinced old houses with no DPC need this. 2}. Can yo7 reduce offer fo4 this.

Bank required survey. House 485k, mortgage 185k.

It costs nothing to ask. Tell the vendor's solicitors that your survey has come back saying this needs done and see if the vendor will reduce the price. If they really want to sell then most likely they'll be up for discussing it. Vendor's may want to see a quote . Five thou seems a lot of for a dpc, but there is all the making good afterwards too I suppose.

I’m not sure we’re at solicitor stage yet, can you get through estate agents.

If you are at the survey stage you are at the solicitor stage, surely? But you can go via EA too.
