Real fireplace

We’ve just moved into our new home. It’s got a real fireplace which looks like it’s had a lot of use. We would like to use it. Do I need to get it checked beforehand?

Maybe get a chimney sweep to check it?

You would need the chimney swept before first use as it may invalidate your insurance if you don't

Chimney sweep if you use it regulatly they’ll book you in for a next visit too. Think about getting a wood burner.
