Blinds for a door?

I recently had a new kitchen floor put in but direct sunlight through the back door is causing it too expand too much, its going to be relaid but I thought putting a blind up would help stop the problem recurring.

However it turns out the blinds designed for doors are all this 'perfect fit' system that doesn't work with our (old) PVC door. What now? We took down vertical blinds as the kids destroyed them and they just didnt work for a door. A roller blind will just flap about.

I currently have the wrong kind of flooring and the wrong kind of door. Hopeless.

Frosted sheet for the door? You can buy it in rolls and it sticks on using water so you can easily remove it in the future.

Our doors are pvc but work with the perfect fit system. Do you know they won't work?

Yes I asked them to send me the brackets and I just cant get them in under the seal like you are supposed to be able to do.

I don't want to do window film as its lovely to look out the door when I'm studying at the kitchen table, it is only 2 months a year it will be used.

We had a similar problem with out patio doors needing blinds and we couldn't get the bracket to fit for perfect fit blinds so we asked some blinds companies to come out and advise us and several of them said they'd get the bracket to fit - one we didn't trust and another one of them succeeded in doing it and we now have lovely perfectfit blinds - so it's worth talking to the blind companies and getting them out on house visits to advise you on options

Great thanks @nellyitsme. Did you use a bug company? If so do you mind telling me which one? I've had Hilary's out before and the man was so incredibly patronising I don't want them here again, not sure who else to go for.

I've never heard of perfect fit not working with certain doors... I work in the blinds industry. Get a pro in to advise.

Failing that heat reflecting screen - sticky backed goes onto the glass...

@haveuheard we used a local independent- I live Derbyshire. We didn't get much help from the big national chains. I asked for recommendations on our local Facebook page and chose a few companies.

I have Luxaflex blinds on my French doors. They are excellent at screening sun if you choose the right ones. No it doesn’t flap about if you raise it before you go out!
