Has anybody tiled their lounge?

We have just bought some gorgeous wood effect porcelain tiles for our lounge (undergoing massive renovations). We thought it would be durable with one DS and 2 dogs. Already planned for under floor heating and rugs, but has anybody got any negatives? Or positives? Or any tips!

@NoNoNoOohmaybe i can't seem to link them. From stone superstore, and they're the Linden Greige Wood Effect Porcelain. Hope that helps!

Our tiles arent echoey and it's not like living in a swimming pool. Neighbours have wood look and they look great. Underfloor heating is standard here. Not expensive to run if you don't let the house get cold but the heat is different to radiators. You need good windows.

We have grey wood effect tiles in our en-suite and they are gorgeous (if I may say so myself!) they don't look like tiles they are long strips rather than squares or rectangles and they are textured to touch. Done right, they could look good in other areas of the house including living rooms.

We have tiles and underfloor heating throughout our ground floor. They're gorgeous and everyone comments on how warm it is.

We've had to put some rugs down where the kids play because the sound of plastic toys crashing on tiles makes my bum clench.

We live in an old farmhouse. The kids and cats are often a bit muddy and they're easy to clean while I shout "boots off at the door".

I live in belgium, and all three of the houses we have rented here have had tiled floors in the sitting room. You can buy rugs to go over the top if you feel the need for carpet.

It's great when the cat decides to bring up a hairball, no hassles cleaning it up.
