Grin at someone needs a chip pan fire
I'd get a migraine in that bathroom Confused

pollyhampton · 30/08/2019 15:59

In photo 20, is that a bed in the white thing?

MelanieFrontage · 30/08/2019 16:03

I notice that the floorplan has the website exposurehouse dot co dot U.K. but that goes to a broken URL
If that’s the name of the house then the interior isn’t surprising 😂

Carthage · 30/08/2019 16:04

It's somewhere that The Donald would consider really tasteful.

Bet it was done up by someone who remembers the 60s and calls young women dolly birds!

Milkstick · 30/08/2019 16:06

Eat your heart out, Biff Tannen.

Annonymiss123 · 30/08/2019 16:06

Truly revolting.

Like something out of an Austin Powers movie!

EntirelyAnonymised · 30/08/2019 16:10

Thanks for clarifying @Mildura.

I like the building itself. It is lovely and looks well maintained but would need a very expensive gut job

Troels · 30/08/2019 16:10

I think it's awful, very over the top and gaudy.

CottonSock · 30/08/2019 16:12

The small print is interesting. Does only part of it have permission for residential?

princessTiasmum · 30/08/2019 16:13

Horrible

RezCowgirl · 30/08/2019 16:14

Hideous? revolting? are you all mad?

That looks amazing! minus the sand fleas

iklboo · 30/08/2019 16:15

I can only imagine what my cats would do with the indoor beach Hmm

EntirelyAnonymised · 30/08/2019 16:16

Urgh. Googled the previous owner. What a tool. Also, the chalet doesn’t look quite so well maintained here. The woodwork looks a bit ropey.

EntirelyAnonymised · 30/08/2019 16:18

That sand is definitely full of dried bodily fluids. Mostly the previous owner’s, I suspect.

MashedSpud · 30/08/2019 16:20

What a strange property. I’d prefer the beach outside and the rooms bigger and not dark.

TherapistInATabard · 30/08/2019 16:23

Jeez Louise how did they get Listed Building Consent for all that shite?

WeeMadArthur · 30/08/2019 16:23

I see that “the contents may be available by separate negotiation”, thanks, but no thanks! I bet the house will look a lot nicer with some of the godawful contents removed. Does that mean someone will remove the 40 tones of sand when it’s sold?

BrightYellowDaffodil · 30/08/2019 16:28

Well, that's certainly, er, unique, isn't it? And quite the design aesthetic - 70s psychedelica meets dictator chic with a lovely big dollop of WTF thrown in. I mean, sleeping in a neon hoop?

I tell you what, that sand'll tread everywhere.

Bluntness100 · 30/08/2019 16:29

This was on here before. There is a story behind it. It wasn't the owners main residence I think and more an entertainment pad. It's only four bedrooms in such a big space.

It's eccentric but cool for a weekend party pad.

AgnesNutterWitch · 30/08/2019 16:31

This looks like what happened when I maxed out my stats in The Sims.

NotJust3SmallWords · 30/08/2019 16:31

The gold bathroom is particularly umm...unique!

That said, it looks pretty good value for the size/location (if I had a spare £2.5 million lying around! Grin)

EntirelyAnonymised · 30/08/2019 16:33

Bluntness, reading the article I posted it seems to have been the weekend sexual harassment pad of an ‘eccentric entrepreneur’.

SilverySurfer · 30/08/2019 16:42

I would have bought it, at the original price but I use a walking frame and can't walk on sand, what a pity. It's totally unique, never seen anything else like it and although some of the decor is a tad OTT I wouldn't say no.

AgeingDurannie · 30/08/2019 16:43

I wonder how much it would cost to remove the sand.... ?

BlackAmericanoNoSugar · 30/08/2019 16:43

I would generally avoid a listed house, I just wouldn't have the patience for all the admin every time something need to be repaired, but some people love that kind of thing. But a wooden listed house would surely be madness for anyone to buy, it must need constant maintenance in a damp climate.
