External painting on a slope

We need to do some painting on the outside of our house at first floor level. The only access is via a sloping path - what do we use to get up high enough??
Is there such a thing as a ladder or platform to hire or buy (this will be a recurring scenario) that is designed to work on a slope?

DP has bought a set of ladder mats because we have the same problem. Alternatively, look at getting a scaffolding tower - they come apart for storage and you can use wood, etc to level it.

Thanks, DP wants to buy a tower as an investment, I'm just concerned that it's quite a steep path (says the woman balancing on a wobbly chair today).
