Best mid range neutral carpet

Help! I need to unexpectedly carpet my new house. I complete on Friday and move int two weeks later.

I don't have much spare time to visit lots of carpet shops. Can anyone suggest a midrange - a around 25 per sq meter - carpet to help me focus my search. It will be for bedrooms and upstairs landing.

Have a look at Carpetright - they often have offers at around 19 / sq metre but you will need to add underlay.

If there is any risk of spills then hydrophobic carpet is brilliant. You can literally pour red wine on it, then just soak it up with a dry cloth- doesn't absorb at all.

Only one brand in UK (can't remember name). The make it in several densities. We have the mid range one, which was about 15 per m2 5 years ago IIRC. Looks like new after several years.

Carpetright also sell them under a different name for double the price.

Just search for waterproof carpet, should come up. Ring first to check they do it if you are short on time; most will be able to order it, but not all.

IME you are better off looking for a local independent carpet shop. I've used a couple close to us and they have been very good, and the prices more competitive that Carpetright. If you say where you are someone might be able to recommend.
