Hi there
Just looking for some opinions.
We live in a sought after area where family homes are popular. We live in walking distance of a good lower school and close to motorway/bus and train routes.
Our house went up for sale on Friday and as yet we have had no viewings requested. Called our agent who said that they have had one enquiry which they are looking to book in for a viewing but we were expecting more by now?
This is the first time we have tried to sell a house, previously we were selling a small shared ownership flat in a different area so it was a different market.
I guess I'm asking- for those of you who are actively looking to move, how often do you check Rightmove? And whether anyone has been in a similar position and still been able to sell for asking price?
Thanks Smile

We're looking to buy and I check Rightmove every day, nothing coming up at the moment Sad

I think you're expecting way too much! It's been the weekend, it's the summer holidays.

Just keep on top of the agents, they'll have lists of people who are looking for your kind of property, if you don't get any more enquiries in the next few weeks it might be time for them to start promoting your house a bit more vigorously.

I live in a very sought after area and houses tend to sell quickly, 3-4 weeks max, but one has just taken 6 weeks to sell for no apparent reason. It's just been waiting for the right person.

I check Rightmove most days and I’m not looking to move for another couple years!
But really it’s your timing - summer holidays, coming up to bank holiday, people starting to get organised for back to school or getting last bit of holiday in - people just aren’t in the house viewing mood!
Give it a week or so.

You are expecting way too much.

It's 3 days! My husband's house took 6 months to sell last year - chill your boots!

Calm down! Everyone’s away on holiday.

family homes are popular

Not in the middle of school summer holidays, leading up to a bank holiday weekend they aren't!

Patience...!

It has been 3 days, relax! Come back in 3 weeks with a link to your listing if you still haven;t had any viewings, then everyone can rip part your actually perfectly nice house with lots of major criticisms about things you can't change :-)

Thank you everybody! You've made me feel much better.

We have seen another house we have fallen in love with but they won't consider an offer from us until we are STC so I think it's leading me to panic a little.

I check Rightmove a lot but then I am about home-decor obsessed and also we don't have children so I guess I'm not as busy as the people that would likely buy our home!

Thanks for making me feel much better!! X
