Garage conversion space

Hi all, am after a bit of MN wisdom. I'm toying with buying a place with a double garage. It's in fairly good nick but I'd want to convert it into useable interior space - possibly an office with some space for a small gym, but also a place for the kids to watch telly or whatever. But I'm wondering if there's a decent way to separate the space or make it into distinct 'zones' rather than just a bit of a free-for-all, it seems a bit messy and confused as all those things in one (albeit decent sized) space. I could put a stud wall in but that would mean one section would have no daylight. Thoughts, o wise ones? Smile

Need a floor plan.

are you coverting both garages?

You could put a new exterior wall across the car door(s) and put windows in them. Thus creating rooms running into the depth of the garage. If you wall up the main vehicle entry route(s) then obviously you need another access route.
I suppose you would need to check re planning permission but I would imagine it’s unneeded but I am not sure.

The floor plan isn't very good, there are no dimensions for the garage, and they don't show either the interior or exterior door. There are two garage doors for the cars at the front and it's just one (square) space inside.
I love the idea of putting windows in, but hadn't even thought about planning permission - thanks!

no but we might be able to tell whether you could link to other rooms in the house/ how it could be devided and were to put windows.

As far as know no planning is needed to put windows were doors use to be.

I had my garage converted, there were windows there already but I had them made bigger, one was turned into French doors, and the side door was bricked up and turned into a window, I didn't need planning for any of it, just building regs.
