We need a few jobs doing to our roof (not a re-roof though). One quote I got last week was very high (as in cannot afford at the mo) so I started to look for a few other companies.
A company was well recommended on our town's forum. I then realised that their van (and owner) moved into our street last week!
I'd really like to get this guy to quote. His website is helpful and he's active on social media showing recent work. However my husband is really against this. He's worried that if we had any problems that living near them could cause issues. He's also worried that they might get offended if we ask them to quote but then don't use them
My view is that it's a relatively small job for the company and that if we have a problem with the work, we'd approach it appropriately! This is a naice area.
Think DH has these concerns as years ago his dad ended up suing a tradesman for shoddy work who was a colleague's husband and it was very awkward.
What do you think? Is this a bad idea? Noone would really get offended by not winning a quote would they?!
