Not knotweed, it's brambles. Bet the neighbours on the left had a Britain in Bloom worthy garden but gave up with the encroaching brambles and poured concrete.

That looks like my house's garden when we bought it - was a probate though that had taken a while and the poor old man that lived here had given up the ghost with the brambles and they just took over. Took us 2 weeks and a lot of swearing to clear the garden - ah memories

I loathe the fire place in lounge and the kitchen needs updating along with the usual decorating, but other than that it looks OK to me. The garden wouldn’t faze me half as much as the ubiquitous “outdoor spaces” complete with huge patio and decking areas I keep seeing in house searches, and would take many hours of builders work to rip out(which I would) Good job we are all different!
