What to offer?

I'm a complete newbie...out of a 23 year marriage when husband sorted the house stuff. Now looking at buying on my own.

Property has been on the market since Feb, was reduced from 120k in April to 'offers over 100k'

Would it be rude to offer 100k? Or even 102k? I've literally no idea...I really don't want to offend.

I'm in a fairly good position, have mortgage agreed and am in rented currently.

I bought recently - a flat which had been on for almost 2 years and had been reduced in price once. I looked at sold prices on Rightmove for similar properties in that area over the past years, then offered the average. My offer was 12% under the asking price and was accepted immediately. I would have been prepared to offer a bit more, if my first offer had been refused.

Knowing how much to offer is based on your knowledge of the local market and how much any property is worth to you.

Good luck!
